On the first day of our Tour from Casablanca to explore Morocco, we will leave after breakfast towards Fez, stopping off in Meknes, a city located in the Middle Atlas. Along the way, we will visit places of interest, including the World Heritage Site of Roman ruins (Volubilis). We will have lunch in Meknes before continuing our journey to Fez. Upon arrival, we will check-in to our accommodation, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the captivating city of Fes, which is divided into three areas: Fez el¬ Bali, Fès el¬ Jdid, and the old Medina. We will visit numerous sites, including The Mellah, the Jewish Quarter, the Plaza of the dyers, Fes el Bali, Fes el Jedid, and the Andalusian Mosque. After the tour, we will return to our Riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
In the morning, after breakfast, we will continue our journey towards the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we will stop at various sites of interest, including the charming city of Ifrane, known for its European architecture and colder climate. We will also visit the forest of the oldest cedars in the country, home to friendly monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, we will continue towards the Ziz Valley, where we will see red gorges, large oases, and beautiful villages with adobe kasbahs. In the afternoon, we will arrive at our auberge in Merzouga. After leaving our belongings, we will embark on an hour and a half camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes to reach our campsite, where we will have dinner, music, and a campfire under the starry sky.
The following morning, we will wake up early to witness the sunrise over the desert. Later, we will visit a Berber nomad family, where we will learn about their way of life, enjoy a meal, and see how the Berber pizza is made. After lunch, we will embark on a 4×4 route to see the oasis in the desert, the town of Khamlia, MeFes mines, and meet the Berber nomads living in the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will return to the camp for dinner, music, and a night’s stay in a Berber tent.
After a camel trek back to the riad, we will depart for Rissani, where we will observe a large market filled with merchants selling various items such as handicrafts, carpets, animals, and food. After lunch, we will continue to the Draa Valley, stopping to take pictures of the surrounding nature. Finally, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will check-in to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
